I dont suffer from PTSD. However I feel that I can probably relate to you in terms of returning to work.

I recently had three months off work for severe depression. It felt like my life was over, my self belief in my ability to do my job was at an all time low. I had completely lost my self confidence.

I work on an acute ward of a psychiatric ward. It is a physically, emotionally taxing job for even the most resilient amongst us. I was petrified of returning to work. However I did several weeks ago.

On the first couple of drives home after initially returning to work I was overwhelmed, overthinking and on one or two occasions, crying while driving home.

I admire you. And I admire your honesty. Good for you my friend. We are all much stronger than we believe.
