Keep In Touch
Keeping in touch with your clients is the key to building a relationship, but it’s easier said than done.
These days, there are lots of mechanisms for keeping in touch (email, phone, newsletters, social media, etc.) but how much is too little…or too much?
What is the right balance to strike and how do you ‘light clients up’ with content they are actually interested in?
To start, aim for ONE point of contact per month and you’re on the right track.
- Send an informal email highlighting issues of interest, such as this recent article by Charlie Weston on insurance costs;
- Call with a quick policy update; or
- Post a blog on a topic you know affects a group of your clients.
Secondly, don’t bore them. Make sure that your content is to the point, provides answers and has a strong headline to attract their attention. In short: Be Brief. Be Bright. Be Gone.
The key is REGULAR (unobtrusive) contact.
