Thanks for a great report on how internships should work! I am a big fan of OutSystems and I’ve encouraged my nephew, who’s in high school, to investigate. I worry we are teaching students outdated stuff, as was the case in my college years.
You learned by immersion, literally. I’d be interested in your thoughts on OutSystems training materials. There is plenty of beginner material but I hit a wall, or rather a crevasse, between beginner and advanced materials.
I see lots of potential in OutSystems products, to replace old-school coding with rapid development, quick-changing tools. I do see a gap in the business model, though. As I’ve worked as a small corp consultant, with large clients, like medical or financial houses, there isn’t an easy way for us to introduce it as a tool, without taking the large leap in cost, from personal developer to enterprise subscriber. Maybe OS doesn’t need to work with software consultants? I’d see it as an easy way to introduce new ideas into corporate networks, which are often stuck in old routines. You can get biz analysts excited with this kind of demonstration!
