Global Journey

My professional career started in September 1999. I had partnered up with two other co-founders to start a web agency that delivered digital solutions for local SMBs in Korea. We had developed interactive websites (e.g. full-flash websites that were responsive) and CMS built with PHP/ASP frameworks.

Since then I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to travel different parts of the world and have learned to appreciate the complexity and diversity that applies to the business world and possibly to life in general. So there’s not a day that goes by that I don’t think about the people and lessons that I’ve learned from or through them. Because I truly believe that the best way to learn is through other people; including those relationships that we might have moved on from.

Some of my most memorable moments include:

  • Launching the first public school website in 1996 (Seoul, Korea)
  • Volunteer work teaching basic computer skills to children (Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan)
  • Building a smart campus to support ubiquitous learning (Beja, Tunisia)
  • Presenting a wearable ad network demo (Las Vegas, NV)
  • Demoing a proximity-based retail experience (Singapore)
  • Speaking on a panel during SXSW to discuss global entrepreneurship. (Austin, TX)

And I hope to share my future journeys through blogging as I continue my pursuit towards building global bridges amongst various networks around the world.
