New Technical Co-Founder & pre-seed funding from imec

It has been a while since my last post, but thrilled to return to this space with two big announcements!

Back in April 2017 already, I was able to bring Fabien Benetou on board as LucidWeb’s new Technical Co-Founder. Fabien is an active Mozilla A-frame contributor, a strong community player and known thought leader in the fast growing WebXR ecosystem. Prior to joining LucidWeb, Fabien built custom WebVR experiences for startups and Fortune 500 companies. He thinks outside the box and inside VR. We kick-started our partnership by developing a prototype making multiple 360° experiences available as one WebVR experience. The UX/UI of the player is uniquely focused on a new user journey from the mobile (magic window) to the headset. With this prototype, we were one of the 6 startups selected to join the imec i.start incubation program, back in August. Imec is a business accelerator program set up to support tech start-ups with coaching, facilities and funding. The program has been recognised as one of the world’s best by UBI Global. This pre-seed funding will enable us to accelerate the development of LucidWeb Pro, a publishing platform for WebVR experiences that is currently in stealth. Then again, already today we are working closely with creative agencies and large European B2B2C brands in media and entertainment developing (non-) interactive, device agnostic VR experiences.

Watch this space for future announcements related to our new players. Email us at if you would like to join LucidWeb Pro’s Beta program. Exciting times ahead!
