If you’re a business owner (or really any person with a website), setting up Google search console should be a no-brainer. Why? So more people can find your site! Google search console is a tool that helps you track basic analytics, do keyword research, identify site issues, and grow organic traffic. Taken directly from Google’s description:

“Search Console tools and reports help you measure your site’s Search traffic and performance, fix issues, and make your site shine in Google Search results”

And we all want to shine!

Step 1

Enter your business domain in the Domain (left, gray box) and click Continue. The following screen will pop up:

Copy the text that is in the copy box.

Step 2

Navigate to and click the manage button to the right of the domain you want to verify.

BlueHost Dashboard

Scroll down until you see the TXT section and click Add Record

You will see something similar to the screen below. In the Host Record field enter @. In the TXT Value field enter the entire string you copied from Google search console verification. Leave TTL to the default value.

Click Save! It can take several hours for the DNS to propagate, so be patient! After 4–6 hours return to Google search console and click the Verify button to verify your domain and access the all the Google goodies that will help you grow your site and your business!

Step 3: Verify Domain by clicking “Verify”
