Day 190: Announcing Demystifying Data Science — An Online Conference Powered by Metis!

In the spirit of inclusivity, access, and enlightenment, I’m very proud and excited to announce a new initiative with my company METIS: the inaugural Demystifying Data Science: A FREE Live Online Conference!
Why are we doing DDS?
One thing I love about working at Metis is how much invests in its mission to create as many paths of access for people interested in data science. I’ve enjoyed the benefits of this philosophy in particular, receiving support to my desire to cultivate the following:
- A national community of Meetup groups
- An international Slack community channel
- A Livestream channel to share talks and workshops worldwide
DDS extends from those motivations to bring together world-class speakers in the field to share their knowledge to anyone — completely free. I’m grateful to be part of such initiatives, and I hope you’ll be part of them, too.
What do I do at DDS?
Pretty much what you do at any typical conference, except you can:
- Listen to talks from anywhere. Once you sign up, you can view up to 24 talks happening over a 12 hour period. Check out our line-up so far — pretty mind-blowing.
- Interact with anyone. We’re working with Kaplan to build a platform for Q&A, chatting, polling, and social engagement.
- Replay anytime. Can’t make the conference on September 27? Sign in and listen to talks anytime afterwards — we’ll continue to host them.
Most conferences require a ticket fee, travel, board, and a per diem. We’re eliminating all of that to get the content as efficiently as we can to you.
How do I get involved?
Three ways:
- Sign up via the link below and you’ll get an invitation to join.
https://bit.ly/demystifying-data-science-signup - Sponsor our event. We’re offering several options for companies interested in being featured during the entire 12-hour event and gaining access to the thousands of people we hope to reach.
- Learn more by checking us out at our site below.
