I strongly believe that every person can make a living doing something they love. And often enough, it’s more of a mindset to become happy with your work. Often it’s not the work that sucks, but how we see it.

A bad job is like cancer. Sure, having a positive attitude will help you manage the disease. But at the end of the day you still have cancer.

Having a positive attitude in a shitty situation requires more work, it adds an extra cognitive load to someone who is already struggling. It’s far easier to have a positive attitude when you’re working an intellectually stimulating, highly-remunerative job. A WalMart cashier has to do more cognitive heavy lifting to find happiness and fulfillment in her job than a “Director of Fun” does in his.
