the british are coming

Got a text from a friend urging me to try a new show. The lead character is Brit. She’s hooked. No surprise there. So many Americans love the British accent. Why? I’m not sure. Perhaps we have the fallacy that they are refined and intellectuals. And that upper-class British accent just adds to it.

I know people who have faked a British accent to score dates. Inexplicably, it worked. Even a total idiot saying bs can get away with sounding smart with that accent.
