Maybe you can achieve some of the stuff with an iPod? Podcasts and Netflix shows can be downloaded for offline use. Games will be a challenge thou but if you are a fan of 2048, it works offline too.

You might end up with 2 devices. An iPod and a flip-phone (when in time of urgency, the person will call and you will also not be drowned with notifications) 😬
