You the Genius

Could you be a genius? Here is what clinical psychologist, Dr. Alfred Barrios wrote in 1980…

“Most people have the mistaken idea that geniuses are born, not made. But if you look at the lives of the world’s greatest geniuses — like Edison, Socrates, DaVinci, Shakespeare, Einstein — you discover they all had 24 personality characteristics in common.

“These are traits that anyone can develop. It makes no difference how old you are, how much education you have, or what you have accomplished to date. Adopting these personality characteristics enables you to operate on a genius level.”

The word “genius” is defined by Mr. Oxford — “showing unusually great intelligence, skill or artistic ability.” The origin of the word means — “innate, inborn, inherent characteristic.”

So what do you think now…

Is genius just for a select few? Is it some mysterious gift only a few are given by some divine power? My answer is an emphatic, “No!” to both questions. Frankly, you are a genius. Perhaps you haven’t been acting like one recently. Perhaps your innate 24 characteristics have yet to fully come forth. But they are there as sure as the sun rises and sets each day. And now it’s time to develop what is innate. Now, it’s time to be a great friend to yourself and know that you’re indeed a genius and can create the life you intend.
