I actually have a different problem. Or set of problems. Even if I had a notebook with me, I wouldn’t think to use it. And when I do, when I actually jot down whatever ideas have paid a visit, when I go back later I often find they have lost their magic. And anyway, some of my best ideas come when I actually can’t stop to write them down. Like, say, when I’m driving to work.

But none of that actually slows me down much. I usually can recapture what I need, and when I can’t, I just write something else. I don’t stress over it.
