Time Management Tips for Moms

A friend of mine once told me, if you want to know how to squeeze everything in one day, ask a Mom! One way or another we can simply get things going. In the event that you haven’t got your routine under control, here are the 5 P’s of time management tips to kick you off.
Prioritize
Identify what you need to accomplish first. Every household task is important but not everything is urgent. The key to being organized is knowing what’s a priority and what can wait. When you have a clear vision of your duties, you’d be able to maximize the time you have and take advantage of those valuable minutes.

Plan
After knowing what needs to be done, it’s time to plan it accordingly. Use your favorite planner and start organizing your weekly or daily tasks. Experts recommend that you partition your to-do list into three segments: those things that should be dealt with immediately, those that can be completed anytime during the week, and those that are long-term or continuous tasks. Be ready to adjust your plans for unexpected events. Make your goals attainable and realistic enough to complete.
Practice
Now you can start making your plans work! Consistency is the key but avoid multitasking. While we are known to be the master multi-taskers, doing so will make us exhausted and inefficient. We can perform better when we focus our attention to the task at hand.

Pause and Pray
It’s not all the time that everything will fall into place according to plan; and that’s perfectly okay, momma! You don’t need to feel bad. We are super moms but we are not super humans. We fail, we get tired and we loose our control sometimes. Go ahead and pause for a while, get some sleep, pray and pull yourself together.
Motherhood is unpredictable, especially with kids. You will most likely be unable to avoid chaos, but don’t forget to do something wonderful and kind for yourself. You deserve it.
