One day I will start a blog… or a Medium page.
I used to have a blog.
In fact, I’ve had a few. Some better read than others. One was even popular, when I was in my mid-twenties.
I promised myself I would write again. I would write about myself and my work. I would be one of those people who shares their ideas and learnings about my profession with my piers. Wirting about those things would help me to become a thought leader and gain recognition in my field. Or something along those lines. That’s what is meant to happen here, right?
I didn’t get around to starting that blog. I got carried away with life. I am a father of two, an entrepreneur with twelve years experience working for top tier international agencies, and later founding my own startup. I’ve designed and launched products, built creative teams and picked up a few awards along the way. Oh, and I just got married.
It would be easy to carry on and plough through, not taking stock or allowing myself to fully appreciate the things I have done or achieved. This is what I have done my whole life. I didn’t want to choose to do that again. I wanted to do it differently. So I did.
Having just left Occipital (a digital product studio that I co-founded) I decided it was time to reset, think long and hard about what it is that I want from life — both personally and professionally — and make sure that I go into the next phase of life and career with a clear and fresh perspective.
By creating more time for myself I can now deliver on the promise I made to myself. I can now start a blog (or a Medium page).
This is it.
Lets see how long it lasts.
I am currently designing my website / portfolio and will be posting case studies here as I complete them. In the mean time, I am available for work. If you have a project or opportunity you think I might be suitable for, please feel free to drop me an email.
