Starting Over — How to accept it and accept the new Journey
Hello Friends
It’s been a minute since we published a blog — this is our first one for the year 2023 and it's a perfect time to share some new thoughts with you.
If you follow me on social media; you would know that we started off this year on a very high note and we already have so much to be grateful for! Will definitely share soon!
But first Let me start by appreciating you all for the year 2022 — returning to this medium after years of break — Thank you for receiving my blogs with almost 2000 readers last year.
Let’s get into the Conversation
STARTING OVER
To many, it sounds nice and we hear it so much at motivational talks that it sounds easy and possible yet the everyday trials and navigating it aren’t really spoken about!
The Loneliness
The confusion
The self-condemnation
The Separation from OLD
The Accountability
The NEW Journey
One thing that is never there oh well mostly for many is REGRET
Let’s unpack these points from the order above:
The Loneliness
We live in a world that is built on patterns and what the modern day world call the ‘Rat Race’ — It’s formed within us from birth and as life goes on — we interchange the patterns but we are always on one — It’s crazy at how our human nature always seeks to belong always. And friends, there is nothing wrong in belonging — it’s not a taboo thing at all — Human history shows that has been a thing for years and even in the days of Jesus.
It is the idea of being Set Apart — that crushes people’s well-built persona’s. The unplanned void that creeps in and the storm that indicates that it is time. Time for What? you ask — Time to Walk Away and leave everything behind — this leaves you mostly asking why would God put you in that environment if you will one day; stand up and leave — crazy right!
Leaving Everything Behind!
I googled the word ‘Loneliness’ and a perfect word came up for it ‘Socially isolated’ — the word that stood out for me was ‘ISOLATION’ then I googled this word and it said ‘the process or fact of isolating or being isolated’
I love the indication of the ‘Process of isolating — we live in a society that either sings TRUST THE PROCESS or they SKIP THE PROCESS and SHOW US THE UPs.(social media pandemic)
I don’t know about you but I am very big on detail — perhaps it’s the Storytelling in me — I want to know the journey and the in-between details and that’s one of the Amazing reasons — I find Jesus so incredible — His attention to detail is next level.
So what is the PROCESS? What does it look like? When does it feel lighter? Why is there a PROCESS?
Do these questions sound familiar? Trust me, if you have been through so much like me? And has never gotten to that point of asking God ’So why do you see me as your STRONGEST SOLDIER ALWAYS? Haha — I am so happy for you cause lol being on duty isn’t the aesthetic Chile.
Anyway — I want you to know that firstly ‘it is OKAY — you are not wrong — You are on the actual path’ — oh how I wish I had that voice tell me that during my season of loneliness. Truth is — Part of why my heart and the Lord allowed me to share this is for those who might or will be going on this journey. I guess ‘some of us ran — so that many of you may walk haha’
The world might describe this season of your loneliness as depression and honestly — that’s okay — but remember it’s a season, not a destination. It’s a start of a Spiritual and physical fight that has to happen. Remember whatever you are leaving behind and starting over from — when you went into that thing — you didn’t plan on the exit or rather foresee the exit.
For example — When you started at that job that has become your biggest nightmare — you didn’t foresee its exit — the day you signed that contract right?
Or when you married your ‘high school sweetheart — you didn’t see the separation right?
Or when you devoted 14 years of your life to a ‘church’ that is not a church but a cult? You didn’t foresee the exit?
In fact — in these above scenerio’s over the years — when people told you that they won’t last — I can bet you always beg to differ yeah but now you are sitting on the side of the road covered in loneliness.
Now of course — not everyone is like the above group — there are people who walk into things fully aware they won’t last or things will go south now — As much that’s not my focus group but this will help you.
This part of you is so important and it’s important because once you move forward — you should never come back to this part ever AGAIN!
Often in this such situations — it's better to stay than to even try moving and that’s because once you even try to move — you are KICKED OUT of your comfortable zone — Friends, this journey of being SET APART is not for those seeking comfortability. And once you act — you cannot go back to comfort because it's taken away from you. So choose WISELY
Let’s get deep a bit alright:
In the bible — we hear of how Moses went up the mountain for 40 days and 40 nights. — More reading [Exodus 32]
It’s not Moses and friends who went up the mountain for 40 days and 40 nights!! Do you all think Moses was having a blast one-man party in the mountains? No, absolutely — this wasn’t Moses going hiking for 40 days for an Instagram or TikTok challenge so no it was not a vibe but it was a process of ISOLATION
What looks familiar to us here is — Yes, isolation is not an aesthetic thing — not every bible character did it! At least n- not in the same way.
Moses was set Apart — Lol, you may say KG — are you saying ‘I am a modern-day Moses?’ Hahaha, now that’s very hilarious no that’s not what I am saying — what I saying is — you are not weird and not alone.
Let’s CARRY ON… We will return to Moses shortly
THE GREATEST PERSON TO EVER WALK THESE STREETS — THE REAL G.O.A.T — GOES BY THE NAME: JESUS CHRIST
Now — Jesus has a different story folk — He knew what was forthcoming but still went to isolation
Remember the faithful night of Jesus and his disciples — where he asks them to not sleep but ‘Watch and Pray’
Matthew 26: 40–45 NCA
‘Then Jesus went back to his followers and found them asleep. He said to Peter ’You men could not stay awake with me for one hour?’
Now, remember I told you that Jesus is a very detailed man so please realise how intense he was communicating at this point — Now, this is a man who knew what was up but still was heavily hearted at this moment.
Let’s Go to this prayer with God by himself before coming back to these disciples.
Matthew 26: 39 to 45
39 Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed,
“My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.”
40 Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. “Could you men not keep watch with me for one hour?” he asked Peter.
41 “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak.” 42 He went away a second time and prayed, “My Father, if it is not possible for this cup to be taken away unless I drink it, may your will be done.”
43 When he came back, he again found them sleeping, because their eyes were heavy. 44 So he left them, went away once more, and prayed the third time, saying the same thing. 45 Then he returned to the disciples and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and resting? Look, the hour is near, and the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.
I think it’s very important you know that Jesus was half Human and half GOD — the point here is that He had a free will like me and you — the offer for him to decline the call of isolation and being a sacrifice was there but I once heard a good quote to explain his reasons of still going ahead
‘Where Love is involved; Sacrifice is EASY.’
Guess What though — Even when it is easy — it doesn’t mean we are numbed to the feeling of isolation and pain.
Jesus on the cross — Cries OUT — ‘Father, Father — WHY HAVE YOU FORSAKEN ME’ — have you ever said this line to God?
Laugh with me — Isn’t it funny that the same Jesus who says ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you’ — feels forsaken at the Cross?
In that same breath — It shows us how Jesus is so selfless that he went ahead and laid his life for others — even when he isn’t stood for.
So friends — I decided to make this a Six part blog series because I really want to not miss anything about this journey so every 2 weeks; we will release a new part — and a chat that will be on every part is ‘WILDERNESS’
How crazy that many people especially Christians — Don’t really understand this word and the spiritual principle of this!
Friends — this is such a very important thing to understand like — Dear Someone; LISTEN — this is so important in the journey of Starting Over and never looking back.
Now, if you are a Bible scholar — you might have heard that word a lot but how does it relate to our lives — Fun fact — the bible is a guide — there is nothing new under the sun.
We are back to Moses — like us; Moses had a purpose — Well — you do too…
He had the role of leading the children of Israel out of SLAVERY ‘Egypt’ into the PROMISE LAND
EGYPT — — THE PROCESS(JOURNEY) — — — PROMISE LAND
What’s the middle part called?
THE WILDERNESS
It is said that they spent 40 years in the wilderness in search of the promised land.
This is insane — the keywords are ‘in search’ and ‘wandering’
Every year is equal to 365 days so times that by 40 = 14600 days
Think spending 40 years journey and never getting to the destination
Your immediate response could be ‘Are they okay?; God is evil and Moses is a flop’ but no there are many factors to this
Let’s see who was consistent between them and God
Simple — God was consistent
He fed them daily.
In the night — He covered them with fire.
In the day — He covered them with a cloud.
What a Good God!
In part 2 of this blog series — where we will tackle ’The confusion’ — I will dive into their inconsistency.
Another thing friends — I will add to each blog is the songs that helped me feel and move in my season of Loneliness back in 2021.
Top 3.
- Speak a Word — Dr. Tumi
- Seasons by Lloyiso
- Easy on Me by Adele
- This is the Air I breathe — Joe Mettle
- Listen — Beyonce
OH YES — and they erupted — yes I said Beyonce — definitely a different Beyonce to the latest version.
Check out the lyrics to this songs please.
That’s it for this blog guys — Trust me; this is a very vulnerable blog series — Please put me in your prayers.
I definitely want to hear your thoughts and what you have to say and perhaps add on — we are a community and I believe that God can speak to all of us and there is no personality needed or middle man needed to share His thoughts.
