Who am I?

I am a painter.
I am my own canvas.
I paint myself for you,
I paint myself for me,
I paint myself how others want me to be.
But sometimes I don’t mix the colors well,
And I end up painting demons,
And ugliness,
And then you and other people and even I
Want to throw my paintings away;
You only like my bright colors.
I take them out from the trash and hang them
In my dark closet.
I will lock myself inside with them
And maybe someone, one day
Will find beauty in their ugliness.
