Recipe: Vegan, Gluten & Sugar-free Apple Pie

I am always experimenting to create healthier alternatives for a tasty dessert. Recently I made this apple pie and it turned out really nice. To make this delicious pie, follow my recipe bellow:

Ingredients:

  • 4 tablespoons almond or chestnut flour
  • 4 tbsp coconut flour
  • 4 tbsp buckwheat flour
  • 2 tbsp starch
  • 3 tbsp date sugar
  • 2 or 3 bananas
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 100ml coconut milk (can be replaced with any other plant milk)
  • 2–3 sliced sour apples
  • Lemon, orange zest and cinnamon.
  • Date syrup + carob powder (cocoa substitute)
  • Coconut crumbs (optional)

Cooking Instructions:

  • Mix flour, starch, date sugar, baking powder, bananas and coconut milk into a dough.
  • Add the sliced apples, lemon and orange zest and cinnamon to the dough.
  • Bake for 30 minutes at 180 degrees.
  • For the top layer of the pie: mix date syrup with carob (or raw cocoa powder) and grease the pie. You can sprinkle some coconut crumbs on top.
