Micro Empires
While many people aspire to be the next Jeff Bezos or Mark Zuckerberg, I’ve always gravitated towards the idea of micro empires. The idea of having several small-to-medium-sized projects that collectively add up to great things in my life makes me happy. A sense of ownership is really important to me, and I don’t believe that large companies offer that feeling once they grow to a certain size. Sure it’s cool to be the founder of a billion dollar company on paper, but day-to-day, it’s not your business anymore.
Alexis Ohanian is someone who embodies the idea of small empires and he has a new video series that’s appropriately named exactly that: Small Empires. The first episode has got me hooked and I’m looking forward to seeing the program evolve.
