The app store says you are from the Ukraine. Sounds like advice my Ukrainian grandmother would have given me! She always told me I spent too much time at the PC and to have a life. The app is awesome, but I don’t see a monetary path. We all know devs don’t like paying for things, especially on an open source platform. And most devs on Android are starving and hoping to make a few dollars. You see first hand how hard it is to make a dollar on there. I know others too that tried and failed, either with their time or spending thousands. Some had apps that looked like works of art. Many app devs may not even want to spend so much time making a design pixel perfect.
Then again I know people who created junk like a lie detector app and made 100s a day.
That being said, if you hired a bunch of outsourced graphic designers and created a site to sell Android layouts, that may make it a business. Your app may even be able to show similar designs. Better yet may be a small subscription fee. You have many who downloaded the app, can you get their emails and send a newsletter? This wouldn’t be spam, but valuable design tips. And, there is nothing wrong with occasionally promoting products, whether it will be yours or affiliate.
I wouldn’t mind paying a few dollars for a nice card view or detail screen. Or even where I can submit a napkin drawing and for a few bucks get a layout.
Then there is marketing, which is 10X more important than even tech. Sometimes a less featured, ‘sloppy’ product could do better than a one with a ton of features, if the marketing is right. Shops that charge 100k for an app may be very interested, but a starving indy may not, but may if the price is right.
A product is only as good as those who will pay for it. A dollar or hyrvina is the ultimate like button!
