Agree with everything here except that ASP.NET is straightforward, at least WebForms. In hindsight, it’s now clear that WebForms is deeply flawed and over complicated development with unecessary abstractions that MS put in simply to attract Visual Basic 6 developers to the web. This made web development way more complicated than needed to be.
