Part 1: How to Link Spotify to Discord on Windows PC/Mac Directly
Linking Spotify to Discord on Windows PC/Mac is relatively easy. Just follow the steps below:

  1. Turn on your computer and launch your discord app, or you can log in to the web browser version instead
  2. Click on the User Settings option in your discord app, one with a small gear icon located in the bottom right corner of the screen, along with your username
  3. Within User Settings, you’ll see a Connections section at the top of the left sidebar; Click it. All accounts that are connected to the Discord account are visible here
  4. Now, click on the Spotify icon under the Connect your accounts option. A new window will appear in the browser; you can log in Spotify account with your username and password or your Facebook account.
  5. Once you sign in, connect Spotify to Discord
  6. When you allow your Spotify account to connect to Discord, the connections tab will show that Spotify and Discord are connected.

It will also display a badge on your Discord profile, displaying your Spotify username (you can also turn this off via the connections menu if you want).
By default, whenever you play music on Spotify using the same PC/Mac that you logged into your Discord account on, the status will suddenly change to “listening to Spotify”.

Users can see what tracks you are playing by simply clicking on their name. Not only that, but they can also play the same tracks on their Mac or PC and even “listen”.

This feature will allow your friends to tune in and listen to what you are listening to! If you want, you can disable this setting through the Connections menu.

Lastly, you can also click on this plus sign (+) near the chat box and choose the “Invite to listen to Spotify” option. This will send links to users, allowing them to join you via the “listen” feature.

Part 2: How to connect Spotify to Discord with Bot
The bot is an applet, which requires to be installed in your main program. So, in this scenario, let’s take the “Groovy” bot and install it on your Discord server to connect Spotify to Discord.

Once installed, it will add additional Spotify features to the Discord server, allowing members to activate particular features by typing text commands.

Note: There are several Spotify bots for Discord; However, Groovy is one of the best discord music bots available.

This is how you can connect Spotify to Discord with a bot:

  1. Visit the Groovy site and click Add to Discord (make sure you are logged into your Discord account before clicking Add to Discord).
  2. Click on the server you want to install your Spotify bot on from the ADD TO SERVER menu below, and then click Continue.
  3. Click Authorize to grant Groovy the Administrator permission on the selected server and go through the “I’m human” box.
  4. The Groovy bot will be instantly installed on your chosen Discord server. Now you can use the bot to play tracks or any other type of music you want by simply typing Play and the name of the song.
  5. If you want to import your full tracks from Spotify to the Discord server, you can do it effortlessly: open your playlist in your Spotify app and click >Share>Copy Playlist Link and then paste the copied URL into the chat after the play command.

Part 3: How to Connect Spotify to Discord Mobile App
This is how you can connect Spotify to Discord on your mobile app:

  1. Take your Android or iPhone and run your discord app
  2. Swipe right to open channel or server browser
  3. Touch the profile photo in the lower right corner of your mobile screen
  4. Tap the Connections menu from user settings
  5. All your current connections will be displayed here, and in case you haven’t connected your Discord account to other services before, tap on the Add button right away, located at the top right corner of your mobile screen. A menu will appear from which you need to choose an account you want to connect.
  6. Of the various services that appear, choose Spotify. A new window will appear asking you to sign in to the account and allow authorization to connect.
  7. Similar to your Windows PC/Mac, your Spotify username will appear on the profile page. Just like on desktop, you can also remove the username from your profile via the Connections menu
  8. Although you won’t be able to invite other users to “listen” on the mobile app, Windows PC/Mac users can click on your status and “listen” as well.
