Naïve youngster that I was, little did I realize that ‘labor-saving’ actually meant job-killing.

It is still misleading, or naive, to say ‘job-killing’ — the truth is that all labor saving improvements result in ‘work displacement’ which means that labor will need to be reorganized into the next most efficient (valued) work. To call such an effect ‘job killing’ is to use emotional rhetoric to further an opinion or bias.

Do you think that any particular job being done today should ‘always’ exist? What determines if a job should exist or not? What determines if a job should not exist?

Do you believe that the ‘purpose’ of being human is to work? Do you agree that humans mostly ‘work’ in order to survive - to obtain goods and services from others? Do you agree that this ‘system’ of working to survive is NOT set-up by some human government or policy, but rather it is due to the fact of life itself, that the universe would surely kill us if we did not ‘work’ in order to obtain the life sustaining resources we require to live?
