Great article, very interesting points to consider.

The endless hunt for vanity figures has always struck me as odd and reminds me of the old business adage “turnover is vanity, profit is sanity”. Just because you’ve got some big numbers on your Twitter account doesn’t mean diddly squat, anyone can buy that if they want, but it’s the quality that matters.
