design 1

I wanted a design to move and float, so I decided to create a relaxed and breezy trapeze dress with one shoulder strap. Side panels and a high/low hem will add more visual interest. All the pieces will be cut on the bias for even more volume and movement. The body fabric is a lightweight cotton voile in a muted yellow; the side panels will be in a watercolor-like cotton voile. I hope this design conveys an effortless yet memorable look.

My original intention was a midi length dress. Unfortunately I did not have enough fabric to get the long length I desired.
At first glance I thought the accent fabric was an abstract textile, having a watercolor splattered effect. Upon further observation, it is a subdued floral print.
Please excuse the gingham! Strictly used for draping patterns.

I need to take in the sides a little for a better fit.
