And attending to one’s emotional well-being, regardless of vocation, is HARD. It’s hard, and facing it is not an intuitive process. Just as we are socialized to believe that emotional labor is better performed by women than by men, we need to learn how to take care of ourselves emotionally- in order to undo that socialization.

This is why teachers need innovative resources for helping them learn how to not only attend to their emotional well-being, but also how to incorporate this learning into their classroom as “teachable moments”.
