In February of 1988, on this very day, a new man came into my life. No, he wasn’t tall, dark and handsome — in fact, he was short, chubby and bald.

His name was Justin, we had decided before “the day”, and I have to say it’s a name he has grown into. Upright, righteous and generous — he is all those things.
He loved the things most kids love: running, climbing, swimming especially. And people — he was the happiest when he was around people, and didn’t hesitate even as a toddler to show his special kind of style —

He also had a very special connection to my dad, and loved spending time with Grandpa Clark.

And as the years passed…

…we saw this guy begin to emerge.

Deeply introspective and passionate, committed to leaving the world a better place than he found it, entrepreneurial, a man of principle, of integrity and action.

And, into our life came this beautiful, fun, smart, sophisticated creature:

Justin, we are so proud of who and what you are and what you have worked so hard to accomplish in our community in the time you’ve been here.
You have challenged us, encouraged us toward our own passions and gifts and invited us into your life to share in yours. You and the life you share with us is a gift we cherish each and every day.
We love you son. Happy Birthday, and may all your wishes come true.
