It takes a tribe… “wisdom and community as capital”….

Let’s face it folks, capital ain’t what it used to be. It used to be that all you needed to be a successful entrepreneur was a fat bank account and a questionable business idea. But for those of us who have been there, and done that…. the truth is far from it.

Assembling your tribe — it has always been a big part of what entices me to continuously explore and embark on new adventures. Those instances when you meet new and interesting people, with vastly different experiences and sometimes unorthodox perspectives, exchanging their wisdoms, learnings and failures… all in service of the exchange of creative thought! (shout out to Harald Neidhardt who was the first gravitational force towards this mindset)

So, here we are…. lets embark on something new,

• my first run at an early-stage venture fund ReAlign Ventures (along with my partner Nick Smoot, and Amanda Gianini) focused on bringing mentorship and community along with capital to early-stage founders in the markets most underserved in the venture landscape — i.e. not SF, NY, BOS).
• Conduit Venture Labs — taking the teams collective commercial, consumer and venture expertise and constructing a community, studio and fund laser focused on those opportunities that will most benefit the health and longevity of the planet and those who call it home.

Conduit Venture Labs — we are venture studio that recognizes that wisdom and community are the real foundational capital that entrepreneurs need. That’s right, Conduit isn’t content with just being another run-of-the-mill venture studio. We aim to leverage wisdom and community as the real driving force behind their startups — and since we are hardware friendly, this can’t be ever more true!

See, when it comes to tackling the challenges of climate change and human health, you need more than just money.
