The most successful Dating App Startups

While some of us might be surprised to learn this, the dating and ‘love’ industry is huge. You only have to look at applications like Tinder, Hinge, or OkCupid to see these apps fulfill deep, social needs in people’s lives. For this article, we’re going to look into some of these services, what makes them so successful, how you can use them in your everyday life, and we’ll even mention how you yourself can get involved in the dating startup industry if interesting. Let’s not waste any more time and get into some of the best mobile dating apps available in 2021.

Tinder

Tinder

This list wouldn’t be complete without the leader of hook-up and dating apps. Most millennials and even older and younger generations are familiar with Tinder. It offers a high-grade, easy-to-use premium interface that is easy to learn and pick up. In addition to this, Tinder has been marketed effectively; utilizing launch parties and online marketing campaigns in order to entice users to their service. Tinder targets younger demographics as well and is available globally for smartphone users. They also offer free trials for their premium features as well.

Hinge

Hinge

For those looking for a more personal connection than Tinder offers, there’s Hinge; a dating app designed for people to find dates based on their mutual personal interests, photos, mutual friends, and marital status. It is powered by the social media app Facebook, which allows you to incorporate the data from your Facebook account into the dating service. Hinge also aims to increase communication on dates, as opposed to the typical hookup culture offered by apps such as Tinder. Hinge has been immensely successful, covering multiple nations and matching over 4 million people each day.

Grindr

Grindr

Dating apps for the LGBT community are important as well. Grindr began to dominate this space in 2009, as one of the few premium gay dating apps. It received celebrity endorsement in the UK, which led to a surge in popularity. Within two years, it had amassed over 100,000 downloads a month. Grindr now boasts over 2,000,000 daily users; continues to win awards, and is often considered the best dating app for the market for the LGBT community.

Pure

Pure

Created by two Russian entrepreneurs, Pure is a dating service that allows its users to arrange dates and meetings without wasting time on small talk. It offers the ability to call taxis, arrange short dates, and the ability to specify what you wish to look for while on said date. Additionally, Pure does not use profiles. It is anonymous and confidential and uses an algorithm based on your own dating expectations. In addition, the app keeps users safe by requiring them to provide a location and time for their meetings, which is kept on record in the event of emergency situations.

Her

Her

Her is an app designed for queer, Lesbian, and pansexual women. Given the small amount of LGBT specific and more specifically female-centered LGBT dating apps, Her has a monopoly on much of the market. It is a relaunch of the previous dating service Datt, but with added improvements and modifications to offer customers a better, safer experience. This relaunch was financed with $1 million dollars, caused a move from London to New York, and expected the target audience of Her beyond Lesbians to be queer females, bi-curious and bisexual women, and nonbinary individuals looking for both friends and companions. While Her has many features of stereotypical dating apps, it is also a social network where queer women can form connections and make friends.
