Dear Rich Boy, Keep Going.

There are a lot of rap artists from the early 2000s who I wonder about, most of whom seem to be out of the loop in 2016. For example, whatever happened to Juvenile? Do you know he goes by Juvie the Great and is still tweeting to girls about backing that ass up? Anyway, I wanted to remind a friend of a better memory because she is not having a good time right now, and one song we jammed to was “Throw Some D’s” by Rich Boy. So here’s a letter to an artist I truly appreciate.

Dear Rich Boy,

Keep going. Your music is hot. My friend and I were young chicks doing our thing, having a good time, and one song we always listened to back in the day was “Throw Some D’s.” Now I know you know that song is hot. Everyone knew that. What I’m saying is, your shit was so hot, that one time it made us “/quit Life” and drive to Miami. We shut that shit down. I mean we drank $15 vodka-flavored ice drinks on the beach at sunrise with smirks on our faces. Another time, we smoked a fatty j and just walked downtown after pumping this song, livin’ life and being young to a beat that made sense to us. It was cause of that hook,

Just bought a cadillac,
Throw some d’s on that bitch.

Now I see what you are doing lately. That song “Paradise” was kinda hot. I looked at that article that Vice did about “Rich Boy in 2015,” and you seemed like you were trying to find a new sound and pumped to make music again.

I think you need to clear your mind just one level more, and you’re there. I mean, you have a type of sound that puts me in the mood like Snoop Dogg sometimes, and I don’t want to stop hearing music from Rich Boy.

I don’t know everything, but I do know how to jump back into things and jump into something new. I’m building parachutes on the way down.

So you’ve got to clear your first. Get all the noise out. There is only one kind of place I know of that lets you clear your mind completely and have the kind of clarity that you need to make it click in your mind when you ask yourself questions like, where am I going or what’s next?

I believe there are places of “pure Earth” that exist in this world that show your real human self and how we really live on this planet with its blessing. Some people are so overwhelmed by the thought of how they live that they do not actually ever look at how they are living. I mean, if you could see yourself the way that I do or the way that any of your fans do, you would be like, “Let’s do something cool for my fans.”

So, Rich Boy, seek out a place of pure Earth. A remote beach, a hard to climb mountain, a deserted island, the desert in the middle of the night — My place is a little hill in the middle of summer camp in the mountains of Asheville. I stared at the sky one night filled with fireflies, and I was like this planet is dope and I need to contribute everything I have to it.

Block out the noise. Good luck.
