Scribbles in Faith
October 16, 2017
Picked up a book by Andrew Luison entitled, “Debt-Free Lifestyle”.
This is truly a blessing from God. I know what I’ve learned from these are life-changing nuggets. Getting out of debt seems to be very daunting, but I know by God’s grace we can accomplish it.
From success stories of different people who have mustered their faith & broke free from the bondage of debt, I am greatly encouraged that I can do it, too. God can use me to be a vessel in helping my institution gain momentum & start shifting paradigms.
One story that truly touched me is Dr. Genevieve Tan’s success story in putting up a school. In her desire to provide the best school for her children, she was not discouraged by the fact that there were 45 schools in her area. She was able to carve out a niche market in the academe & in the business industry. She became the Chief Mentor of a transnational school, which is now known as Southville International School.
Dr. Tan has this to say on carving out a niche market:
“My wish was only to break even, but since the curriculum was EXCELLENT and the DELIVERY even greater, it SUCCEEDED. I realized that no matter how crowded the market, if you have an outstanding product, it would be a winner.”
I have similar longings for GLCA. I want it to be a pioneer in developing a specialized Christian curriculum that will cater to the needs of the 21st century learner.
I dream of having world class school buildings with facilities that will foster creativity, develop logical thinking & reasoning, & most especially to strategically teach the truths of God’s Words through Apologetics.
In my own strength, I am certain I won’t stand a chance, but with God all things are possible.
From these book, I was reminded of my favorite verses:
- “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.”
Isaiah 55:9 NKJV
- “The hand of the diligent will rule, But the lazy man will be put to forced labor.”
Proverbs 12:24 NKJV
- “You can make many plans, but the Lord’s purpose will prevail.”
Proverbs 19:21 NLT
Save. Cut Debt. Pray. Trust God for Divine Intervention.
