I am Levelsi, a diarist, socio-cultural theorist, and experiential design thinker. My work explores the intersections of money, technology, art, and the human condition, likening it to that of an 'artist of psychology.' I maintain a critical stance towards technological advancement and its societal impact. Technology, in my eyes as a former venture capitalist, is a double-edged sword — a Faustian bargain that solves one pressing issue only to spawn another two, like some Hydra-headed monster. Its alluring promises of progress and scale, often conceal the perilous consequences that unfurl in its wake, a serial Pandora's box of unintended complications. The same unsettling truth haunts finance, where even capital earned and given away ethically could lure us into the proverbial 'robbing Peter to pay Paul.' There is a disquieting limitation to the agency we exercise over money — a realization that even our most virtuous efforts can be subverted by the capricious nature of wealth and high living.
In my efforts to make a living in an honest way towards the environment, I am learning how to put my "whimsical lines of understanding" at the service of quality, beauty, resilience and fullness of life. I write and engage in conversations because, as the philosopher Thomas Kuhn observed, the paradigm that is so intrinsic to one's mental process is often invisible until confronted with an alternative worldview. I find contexts to be increasingly important in our age. I then work on extracting psychology from the confines of medicine and social control. I study living spaces with the aim of taking architecture out of the narrow contexts of equity and real estate. And as a long-time movement practitioner, I am willing to liberate mind-body practices from the shackles of dogma and tradition.
Emphasizing the role of play in navigating the world of ambiguity, increasingly dominated by the relentless pursuit of technological solutionism and financial gain, I keep away from the competitive games of "magicians and demigods". Playfulness is recognized as an indispensable tool for reclaiming our agency and resisting the seduction of perilous bargains. Through playful exploration, the aim is to uncover the hidden connections and contradictions that underlie the complexity of existence, approaching the world with a willingness to challenge accepted norms and a refusal to be confined by the rigid structures of the status quo. In the poetic terms of the mystic and the practical terms of the coach, I am a highly developed "baby" who uses time to help people change their lives and, hopefully, helps make life a little better.
