Great article, Zs-man! 🙏 I totally agree—it’s better to have multiple smaller-scope, easy-to-grasp products than just one, huge, monolithic beast that no one can tame.
Atlassian could’ve built “their own Trello”, as Apple could build their own mobile operating system instead of brute forcing the way more complex macOS on phones, or how Adobe could build Lightroom for people who thought Photoshop was just too much, too bloated.
Another good example is Stripe, I think: https://stripe.com/
I can totally imagine their standalone products could be mere “features” elsewhere.
