A while ago, when I stumbled upon Miro, I decided to try combining an LLM to create flowchart visualizations. That was about a year ago. So, I created the plugin as a showcase of how one can utilize the power of LLM and build great tools for inspiration. Since I posted about it, many people have reached out to get the plugin link, but unfortunately, I never made it available publicly.

Two weeks ago, on my way home, I listened to one of my favorite podcasts, which discussed the importance of finishing things to reap the full value of the process. Inspired by this, I decided to finalize and publish the plugin. After a long debate between me and ChatGPT, we settled on the name FlowChartGPT. I like it because it captures the essence of the service.

How to Use FlowChartGPT for Miro

Transforming text into dynamic flowcharts has never been easier with FlowChartGPT for Miro. This innovative plugin leverages advanced language models to create visually engaging flowcharts directly on your Miro board. Here’s a simple guide to help you get started and make the most out of this powerful tool.

First, open your Miro board and navigate to the plugin section. Once there, select and open FlowChartGPT. You’ll find a user-friendly interface that allows you to input text in two ways. You can either click on any existing text element on your board that you want to convert into a flowchart or use the text field within the plugin interface to type or paste your text.

After you have entered or selected your text, simply click the ‘Submit’ button. The plugin will then process your input, which might take a few seconds. During this time, a loading indicator will show that the text is being transformed into a flowchart. Once the processing is complete, the generated flowchart will appear on your Miro board.

Now that your flowchart is on the board, you can move, resize, and edit the elements as needed. Use Miro’s built-in tools to further customize the appearance of your flowchart. You can add new elements, change colors, and adjust the layout to perfectly fit your needs.

For the best results, ensure your input text is clear and concise. If you’re outlining steps or processes, placing each step on a new line will help the plugin create a more accurate and understandable flowchart. This approach is especially useful for project planning, brainstorming sessions, and process documentation. By visualizing these elements, you enhance clarity and collaboration within your team.

FlowChartGPT for Miro is designed to save you time and effort, making it easier to transform complex text into clear, visual diagrams. Whether you’re outlining project milestones, brainstorming new ideas, or documenting processes, this plugin helps you convert your text into valuable visual content, improving understanding and productivity on your Miro board.

If you wish to use the plugin, you can find it in the Miro Marketplace or by this link. Feel free to try it out and let me know your feedback. Happy flowcharting!
