Summer Chill

Life is busy.
We’re more like human doings than human beings. If you’re like me, the past few months have been filled with activities, work requirements, and the day-to-day stuff that makes you ask where April went, when we find ourselves in June.
We’re spending too much time doing, and not enough being. Our minds are bouncing from task to task, thought to thought.
Be thankful that breathing is basically an auto-pilot operation, otherwise many of us would be dead by now.
From my vantage point this morning, I watched a car drive down a long road. I wondered who was driving that car, what’s going on in their life, where are they going at this time of day, and what challenges did they face this week, that impacted them.
Same questions I have for you.
My hope is that summer approaches, you take a step back and be mindful of your life. Enjoy the cottage or wherever your getaways take you. Focus on your breathing, which is great to manage stress. Think of others that may (or may not) be going through challenging times. Offer encouragement.
If you’re experiencing a loss: Don’t be sad that it’s over, be happy it happened. Cherish the good moments in your life. Learn from the challenges, as they have made you stronger.
Do something new this summer. Go to a concert or festival. Walk outside. Read books. Exercise! Donate things you do not need.
This summer you need to chill.
Be well!
