Something Is Around Your Neck That Is Why Your Life Is Bad.

Sure you have heard the story of the boiling water and the frog. Whether it is through or not it is incredibly instructive and applicable to human nature.

The short form of the story is that if you have a frog and toss it into a pot of boiling water it will jump righ back out. If you put the frog in a pot of cold water and slowly turn up the heat it will stay in that pot until the water boil and get cooked to death.

Back when I was in college in my native country of Jamaica in the Caribbean there was this huge national riot called the gas crisis.

It started because the government wanted to make a sharp increase in gas prices by adding a tax that would see the price of a gallon of gas increase by $10 one go.

The citizens sharply resisted and people started to blocking roads, loot, destroy public property and demonstrate in the cities.
There was a huge crisis for a few days.

The government eventually retreated and decided to rollback the tax.

But what happen in the next eight weeks was startling. Every week consistently 0.98 cents was added to the price of gas until eventually the price was above the original $10 increase that started the riots.
