Don’t feel obliged to use any of these, but if they help… go nuts.

Feel free to highlight ones you’ve written, and maybe drop a link in the responses! Many are deliberately quite vague, so go crazy and take these little jumping-off points in any direction your heart desires. My intention is to add to this post as new ideas strike me. You could also drop me suggestions, ideally over twitter @ lexberju.

Why do you want to write?

Talk about your greatest achievement.

Talk about your family.

You just came into a hell of a lot of money. What do you do with it?

Is gender a social construct?

What have you overcome?

Describe your surroundings. Are you comfortable where you are?

Talk about your favourite hobby.

How did you do in school? Did you enjoy it?

What do you think of conspiracy theories?

What’s your favourite fandom? How, if at all, are you involved with other fans of the show, book, or whatever it may be?

What’s the best book you’ve read in the past year? How about ever?

What’s your job? What’s the best thing about it?

Who’s your best friend?

Who’s your inspiration?

Do you have, or have you ever had, a mentor? Talk about the experience.

What app (or other digital tool) couldn’t you live without?

Apple, Android or other? Why?

Find a (royalty-free) picture (or use one of your own photos!) which describes your mood today. Free-write about it.

Take a selfie and talk about what you like about yourself. (Get creative. Include family, pets, take it in your favourite place, show a hand instead of your face…)

Where are you happiest?

Who can you just not stand? Now flip that over and think about the positives. What have you learnt from your relationship with them?

Handwrite an entry. Take a photo and post it as your blog for today. (If you have time, transcribing it for people who use screen-readers would be really great of you.)
