JESSICA JUNE CHILDREN’S CANCER FOUNDATION KICKS OFF ITS

20TH ANNIVERSARY WITH A “YEAR–END GIVING 4 KIDS” CAMPAIGN

The Wasie Foundation will provide a $25,000 match to reach a goal of $100,000 by December 31st. 100% of all funds raised go to providing emergency financial assistance to children fighting cancer.

To celebrate two decades of dedicated service, the Jessica June Children’s Cancer Foundation (JJCCF), a nonprofit organization committed to supporting children and families impacted by pediatric cancer through its Emergency Financial Assistance program, is initiating a special fundraising campaign called “Year-End Giving 4 Kids.” This campaign offers a unique opportunity for various organizations, local businesses, teams, and individuals to unite with JJCCF’s CEO, President and Founder, Sandra Muvdi, in her impressive goal to raise $100,000 within a 34-day period. The campaign will kick off on Giving Tuesday, November 28, and continue until Sunday, December 31, providing ample time for everyone to contribute to this noble cause.

Since its inception, the organization has impacted more than 6,700 lives and has raised over $5 million to help children fight cancer. Sandra Muvdi founded the JJCCF after the tragic loss of her seven-year-old daughter, Jessica June Eiler Muvdi, who suffered from an aggressive form of leukemia in 2003. Muvdi directly runs the programs (one-on-one with each family) with an understanding of the challenges that families face during their childhood cancer journey.

“Reaching the 20-year milestone and commemorating all of our positive achievements following the heartbreaking loss of my daughter is truly moving. The contributions we have received throughout the years have been vital to maintaining the services we provide to families,” said Sandra Muvdi, CEO/President/Founder of JJCCF. “It’s imperative that we come together as a community to raise funds.”

With a contribution of just $20 from 10 individuals, the organization can feed a family for an entire month. One hundred percent of all funds raised through the “Year-End Giving 4 Kids” campaign will directly support local cancer-stricken children and their families. Over the years, JJCCF’s fundraising efforts have directly assisted families fighting childhood cancer by providing supportive care services and emergency financial relief for basic needs such as food, gas for transportation, rent, utility, and medical.

The Wasie Foundation has provided funding to the JJCCF since 2007. The Foundation extended JJCCF a challenge grant for the “Year-End Giving 4 Kids” campaign, pledging to match donations dollar for dollar, up to $25,000. The timing represents a unique opportunity for contributors to invest in local children and double the impact of their donated dollars.

“I am so grateful to The Wasie Foundation for being such an incredible supporter throughout the years and who continues to champion our efforts to fulfill our mission of helping children and their families fight cancer by providing emergency financial assistance for basic human necessities and supportive care services,” added Muvdi.

According to the National Institutes of Health, every year in the U.S., more than 17,000 children receive a cancer diagnosis. Tragically, 84% of families grappling with pediatric cancer also face significant financial burdens. This information underscores the critical need for support. Cancer is the leading cause of disease-related death among children.
