YES. This is the argument:
- I am able to earn more money
- I am not able to earn MUCH MUCH more money
- That’s unfair, I thought I would get so much money!
- My mistaken belief makes me feel angry
- I will express that anger by purposefully earning even less than I can, to avoid having to hold up my end of a contract
- My understanding is that this hurts financial institutions who will accept the loss themselves. I have never considered that defaulting on debt will hurt other customers (who will be charged more to compensate for the bank’s losses on me) who are actual people not faceless corporations.
