Managing Your Facebook Store: Check Out Your Checkout Options

Re-Direct Customers to Your Site or Keep them in Facebook

So you’ve decided to use the commercetools Social Media Commerce Connector for Facebook. You have your store set up and synced with your product catalog to look something like this:

Now you have your first customer, and they found something they want to purchase! They click the image to see more details for the item:

At this point, the customer is sure they want your product and they are ready to proceed to checkout. Here’s where you have 2 options.

Option #1: Re-direct your customer to the checkout page on your Site

Ehen the customer clicks “Buy Now!” they are re-directed to the checkout page on your site. What’s cool about this option is that your customer is not re-directed to the product page on your site, or a homepage — it takes them straight to the checkout page.

If you do not have a web store to re-direct to, or you just prefer to keep your customer in Facebook, here is another option.

Option #2: Keep your customer’s transaction within Facebook

To implement this type of transaction, first go into your commercetools Merchant Center and select the Facebook integration. Then, enable checkout through your web store:

With this type of checkout, your customer never has to leave your Facebook page. They are prompted to fill out their billing & shipping address, payment information, and then simply click “Buy Now!” to complete the transaction.

As soon as the transaction is submitted, they will receive a message to notify them the purchase has been completed:
