4 weeks out, 18th July 2017

It gets to you, the pressure. No matter the occasion, big or small, this sport always…..gets to you. 4 weeks out to my second meet after a whole year of taking a “break”. Within this one year, I have achieved 0 squat and bench press PRs and just a slight deadlift PR.

At this point of time, I have no idea what I’m doing for training. But it is however, safe to say that I plan out what I’m gonna do on that specific day at the very least. At this point of time, I’m still hitting volume for squats and bench. My oh my that was a bad idea. Last squat session was on Sunday, where I hit a 157.5 kg squat for 5 sets of 5, followed by a 130 kg squat for 3 sets of 7, with the latter being done as a “backoff set” but really it was just because I skipped a squat session and needed to hit volume for the week. It’s currently Tuesday night I’m writing this, feeling sore as ever. Due to internship I haven’t been getting the best good night’s sleep in a while.

DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness) is no joke and I really wanna get a session in as soon as possible.

Recovery tights on, I’m desperate to train.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
