Confidence is like a muscle. The more you use it the stronger it gets.

Work that muscle all day, every day!

Sharing 8 Things You Can Do to Become More Confident

1. Focus on improving yourself instead of comparing with others

Comparing yourself can bring negativity and lack of self-esteem and that’s never a productive or positive thing.

Instead of wishing you were like someone else, focus on becoming a better version of yourself. Work on things you are unhappy with.

Realize your self-worth and understand how unique and special you are.

2. Learn to say No

Give yourself permission to say no without feeling guilty.

Be purposeful in your actions. Saying no does not require justification or explanation.

Say no to the good so you can say yes to the best.

3. Exercise your body and your mind

Physical exercise is not only good for your body’s health, it also helps keep your mind sharp. It’s true what they say, if we don’t use it, we lose it.

The Amercian Heart Association recommends 150 minutes a week of moderate exercise or 75 minutes of vigorous exercise for overall cardiovascular health.

According to Dr. Lawrence Katz, an internationally recognized neurobiologist who was a pioneer in neuron regeneration research states regular brain exercise (neurobics) should engage all 5 senses — sight, sound, touch, taste, and smell in non-routine ways.

4. Kill Negativity

Negative people are toxic, so keep your distance or remove them from your life, completely. This may sound harsh but they will only make you feel worse about yourself and that doesn’t help you build your belief.

Negativity feeds on fear and anxiety so focus on the things that will bring happiness into your life. Concentrate on the whats, not the what ifs.

Surround yourself with positive, high energy people. Because when you feel good, you do good!

5. Change your habits

Make a small tweak to your daily routine. Something you know you can accomplish. Celebrate your small wins then move on to the next thing you want to change.

Minimize distractions that will take your focus away from your new goal.

Do one thing every day that scares you.

6. Read more

Reading can help reduce stress and improve your focus and concentration.

It’s one of the best ways to increase your knowledge and we all know knowledge is power.

Read something for pure enjoyment and also something that helps you improve yourself.

7. Smile more

Practice Smile Therapy — smiling can reduce blood pressure. Elevated endorphins boost your mood and reduces blood pressure. So essentially smiling saves lives.

8. Help others

Smile and be kind. Sometimes it only takes a little thing to put a smile and warm feeling in someone else’s heart, and make their day a little better. They might then do the same for others.

Donate and/or volunteer — whether it’s something you no longer use, your time, or even help monetarily. You can even ask friends and family to redirect a gift by donating to a charity or special cause of your choice.

Be a comfort to someone that may need to vent or blow off steam. Even a hug, a helpful hand or praise can go a long way.

While building your belief/ self-confidence, pause along the way and recall all the things you’ve done, all the milestones you’ve achieved and say to yourself, I can do this!
