Visit Krakow!
Krakow lies in the southern part of Poland, close to the border with the Czech Republic. Known for its grand architecture the city receives millions of visitors each year, and this number is rising.
Krakow is one of Europe’s best jewels for travellers. It’s rich in history and architecture, has an abundance of restaurants and coffee shops, and won’t damage your bank balance as badly as many other places in Europe.
With a history that dates back more than a thousand years, Krakow is one of Poland’s oldest and most historically significant cities. It was established in the seventh century and was Poland’s capital from 1038 until 1596, when Warsaw became the new location. Krakow has experienced several historical occurrences over the years, including the Mongol invasion, the Jagiellonian dynasty’s rule, and the Nazi occupation during World War II.
I spent some time in Krakow whilst touring Europe in 2019. I used Airbnb to book a cheap apartment with good Wi-Fi, located about a 10-minute walk from the main areas.
Of course, there are many places to stay in the city centre, but if you’re looking for something a little quieter and cheaper, I recommend staying outside of the old town, especially if you want to get some work done!
