Can’t imagine that Owen will read all of these, but like a genuine internet saddo I feel compelled to comment anyway.
The idea that the referendum was on a “constitutional issue” seems to be the nub of the disagreement between gracious losers like Owen (who do anecdotally appear to make up the bulk of Remain voters, at least in England) and bitter Remoaners like myself. To me, the ballot may as well have read “do you want to kick out all the foreigners y/n”. That’s the main complaint most Leavers had about the EU and everybody knows it. EU nationals here are now in a position where the best case scenario is that they merely lose voting rights. Worst case, and looking more likely by the day, we crash out without a deal and the Tories use the excuse for mass deportations.
Owen is right that shouting at him about it is the least useful thing we can do, though.
