Last winter we fed out 6 hogs and a sow on a couple acres of overgrazed pasture. We fed them barley grain as well as squash and pumpkins. My dad also threw some peas out in the paddock to see if they would grow. That spring the seeds from all those pumpkins and squash and peas grew tall, thick and lush in that pasture. In addition to that the barley that the hogs didn’t eat got stirred into the ground and grew into grass and eventually grew very large grain grass. So if you have some hogs and want to start a garden put the hogs in the garden spot they will till it up and fertilize it and even plant your seeds for you!
