Why I Stopped Going To Bed At 3 & Started Getting Up At 6am

Life is short. Time is precious. We’ve all heard this but one day something just clicks and you will really understand it.

It clicked for me. Every year I’m getting a little older and time is the most precious resource I have. So I took control. How can I do as much as I possibly can, achieve the things I want to, and spend time with the people I love?

So I stopped wasting time.

And started using every minute I can to make moves.

Its that simple.

I’ve always been a night owl and I used to be pretty grumpy in the mornings. Ask anyone. But guess what, I changed it! Now I get up at 5 or 6am every morning. It was difficult at first but now it’s easy. I can get 2–3 hours work in every morning before anyone else gets up. Over time this makes a real impact on my ventures. Next step is trying to incorporate a bit more exercise to make those hours I’m awake even more productive.

I also stopped wasting those late hours. I do a bit more work when I get home and spend some time with my family. I don’t stay up as late but I make the most of the hours I do. And you know what? I love it. 6 hours sleep is more than fine.

I’m partly mad that it took me so long to realise it but grateful that I understand it now.

You’ve got to understand that your destiny is in your control. If you want to make something happen you just have to put in the work. Stop wasting your time with bullshit.

“It’s not that we have a short time to live, but that we waste a lot of it”

Here’s a great video by Casey Neistat that tells it better than I ever could:
