The Background for the Longest Soap Opera in History — Part 9

What is anti-Semitism?

AntiSemitism is the modern term to describe a social phenomenon that, before the 19th century, was known as hatred of Jews. Antisemitism is considered a form of racism. The term anti-Semitism means hatred of Jews only, and it has never been used to indicate hatred towards other heavenly peoples. The reasons for anti-Semitism throughout history are many, including hatred on a religious basis, hatred on a socio-economic basis, hatred on a cultural basis, and hatred on a racial basis. During the 20th century, the term anti-Semitism was accepted in the Hebrew language and in other languages as meaning hostility or hatred towards Jews, which includes all forms of hostility towards Jews throughout history. Communities of Jews around the world were subject to frequent violent acts, laws that prevented them from education, participation in social activities, and laws forbidding them to work, which reached their highest peak during the holocaust time.
