With SD Hacks 2017 over, I’d like to share some of the insights and process behind this year’s design and visual branding.
After SD Hacks 2016, some of us on the SD Hacks team took some steps back to evaluate where our visual brand stood as a whole. Our previous brand and site was a juxtaposition of different themes and a somewhat corporate color scheme. We decided it didn’t match the learning and hacker-focused approach of our hackathon.
Together we decided to rebrand for SD Hacks 2017, keeping some elements of the past design such as logo and fonts, but ideating and rebuilding our brand from the ground up. …
