It is unfortunate that Edison is the only source of exit poll data.

I’d love to see more organizations run exit polls as well.

However, I think you’re falling into the common trap of “exit poll fundamentalism”. Rather than widespread fraud, the simplest explanation here is non-response bias… everyone knows there’s an enthusiasm gap between Hillary and Bernie. Bernie supporters are generally a lot more excited than Hillary supporters, and this leads to non-response bias. Basically, Bernie supporters are more likely to stay an extra few minutes to answer exit poll questions, because they have more enthusiasm.

I’m sure Edison adjusts for this, as they adjust for the early voters, but the REAL question is how effective are their adjustments? Do they really give non-response bias and early voting enough weight in their calculations? Considering both factors heavily inflate Bernie’s raw exit polling numbers, I think it’s much more rational to say that perhaps Edison didn’t weight these considerations enough to fully neutralize the difference.

We are in agreement on the next point though. In my original response, I said that if fraud is happening, it’s probably vigilante riggers rather than Hillary herself. I don’t believe Hillary is evil enough to rig an election.

As for fraud in the South, we’re starting to get into pretty outlandish thinking here, so the only way I can argue is to put on an even BIGGER tinfoil hat… Perhaps Bernie supporters are actually doing the rigging, in hopes that Hillary gets blamed? By choosing to believe that there’s fraud going on, you’re opening up a pandora’s box of possibilities. Under your own logic, you have to admit that what I just said is a legitimate possibility.

On the final point, I’m going to be very blunt. If you actually get your news from sites like Counterpunch, I have a hard time taking you seriously. An investigation into likely non-existent electoral fraud will do NOTHING to help the country. We already know our voting machines are shit, so let’s focus our energy on hack-proofing our voting systems, rather than pointing fingers and accusing people of fraud. I’m sure you have genuinely good intentions, but let’s be completely realistic. Any investigation into Hillary election rigging will just become a political witch hunt that accomplishes nothing… much like the Benghazi committee.
