FIND YOUR PURPOSE

A common thread in today’s society is the idea of finding a life purpose. A life worth living. Those who understand, pursue, and wholeheartedly believe that their life has meaning, are much happier than those who cannot connect to a sense of purpose.

Personally, even as a young adult I spent so much time thinking existentially, but in a lost and negative context. These ideas left me with more questions and answers, resulting in a feeling of misdirection, that was quite depressing. However, several insightful events in my life lead me to believe that everyone on this earth is here for a particular purpose. Everyone has something to contribute, that is their unique gift. I figured that if this is the case, our existence is actually very meaningful. We do indeed, have a purpose in our community, society, and planet. In order to discover this important aspect of our life, certain steps are necessary.

You must establish who you are, what is your gift, and how that serves the collect experience of life. With a closer look at these aspects of your life purpose, you will come to see that not only will you be more fulfilled, but that you will also help fulfill the lives and spirits of others on their own path of self discovery.

Who are you?

This question is the basis of your existence, and what connects you to the living soul of our society. To discover this, you must look at your beliefs. The views, ideas, and strong beliefs of a person makes up their soul, and the interactions and experiences of their lives. This is because your belief, becomes perspective. Your perspective is the lens in which you view your life unfolding, and ultimately how you react and live with these perspectives determine your character, and thus WHO YOU ARE. Establishing this, has a distinct impact on the next aspect of discovering your purpose.

What is your gift?

Every person on this earth has something to contribute. Something they are uniquely proud of, and would consider themselves qualified in this, and enjoy doing it. This could be anything from writing, painting, or music, but is not limited to art. All people do not find their passion in art, and being artistic is not the only gifts one can posses. Your gift could be designing homes, to providing a place to live for others. It could be cooking, and fulfilling the need of others to eat. What these things have in common is the idea that they are providing something to society. That is why I consider it a gift. This all leads to the final phase of discovering and further pursuing a purpose for your time here on earth.

How does you and your gift serve others?

As I mentioned before, about knowing yourself, and knowing what gift you have, is the formula for creating your life purpose. These things that we all uniquely enjoy, and excel at, have the quality of being able to serve others. This does not only make it a career, which can be meaningless and financially based, but not spiritually fulfilling, but it contributes to the needs of other. This contribution, stemming from who you are and your unique gift, helps further society, and better the life of others. I believe our planet is a community. The reason it has been in existence is because of the personal gifts we all have, that keep society alive. Thus, every single person, especially you reading this, can fully realize the potential to hone your gift, impacted by who you uniquely are, and exponentially create and find fulfillment by understanding and experiencing the positive impact you bring into the world everyday, and THAT, is a purpose.
