I’m not sure if I agree with all of your comment or not: I can’t tell if you’re saying the actual Marie-Antoinette “had no real problems,” which I disagree with, but I agree in some respects with your comments about the film.

I think that if Sensei had used your critique of Coppola’s “Marie Antoinette,” it would have fit into her essay and been more accurate. I thought it was bizarre that, in an essay dealing with issues of gender, Sensei repeated a false claim that became popular partly because of misogyny toward female political figures. Interestingly, one of the other accusations made against Marie-Antoinette in the 18th century was lesbianism, and I’ve heard the same charge made against Hillary Clinton, as recently as just a couple months ago.
